I tried maybe 4-5 different anti-virus programs and none of them worked except kaspersky I had a similar problem, high CPU and memory %'s, causing my computer to be slow and Soon, the computer becomes slow and, in many cases, becomes unresponsive. get redirected here

And can the ransom virus cause havoc after it's removed? They prefer to only use Malwarebytes anyways, both were my own suggestion to help scan for a virus. I do have a older computer (8-9 years old) but I don't believe it's age is the reason why the CPU is spiking all of a sudden. I wouldn't go straight to reinstall of the OS without at least looking around a little.
