This is a proven way of deleting almost any virus. neither will deleting all but last restore point if it's replicating from there. you can try online norton scan if they still have those. Hi Jumping the gun ...maybe...OR knowing PRECISELY what I am doing.....you choose....I wont argue, I fix the damn viruses...EVERY day.... Does your computer shutdown while your doing anything else ? I had noted my fan running a lot harder and when I read that post I figured why not try it.

Can only reboot for 20-30 seconds. It shuts down after a while even when I insert the XP-cd to re-install XP.(WinXP partition is already deleted).

Problem with IE, computer shuts down during scan. I was going out of town over the weekend anyway so I just dropped the computer off with the "Geek Squad" at Best Buy and told them to fix it for Run malwarebytes, tdss killer, and possibly norton power eraser.
